Design is one of the most exciting parts of every project; but of course I’m partial. For all of the other parts, I have excellent technical and trade partners that can step in as necessary. To name a few – 3D rendering and visualization, structural engineering, product reps and showrooms, and general contractors might be helpful or required to successfully complete your project.

With 21 years of experience in the architecture and design industry I believe the most important roles of a designer is to interpret the clients dream, understand project goals and generate possibilities. I embrace the creative brainstorming process between client and design professional. A large part of a designers’ job is education—and I am comfortable working with clients who haven’t experienced or managed construction projects. Formally an employee of a design-build general contractor, I have the expertise to manage and teach how projects go and explain typical roles and involvement. I have a strong background in cost estimating and project sequencing, and I don’t shy away from budget and value engineering conversations. With experience in both design and project management, I approach projects with a finer level of detail and personal accountability.
On a personal note, I moved from the city to Bloomington about a year ago with my lovely little family. I have an 8 and 10 year old, and a wonderful husband (who does commercial architecture). We stay busy with kids’ sports, family bike rides, hikes, cross-country skiing, and kick sledding.
Design adds Value, faster than it adds Cost.
